NAOMI BEITOWICH ZOTTOLI, 72, passed peacefully on Thursday, November 21, 2019. She leaves her husband of 40 years, Jack Zottoli; their daughter, Alyce Zottolli, her sister, Vicki Gladstone, nieces Sabrina and Arielle Gladstone, and their beloved pets, Heidi and Precious. She is preceded in death by her parents Sol and Anne Breitowich, and her brother, Marshall Breitowich.
Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Naomi was a 1965 graduate of Senn High School and went on to earn a Bachelors degree in Mathematics from the University of Illinois. She taught calculus for over a decade and then relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana, inspired by her love of jazz music. There, she managed a record store in the French Quarter and spent her time traveling the world with the famous New Orleans Heritage Hall Jazz Band. It was in New Orleans where she met the love of her life, Jack Zottoli. The couple eloped in June of 1981 and in 1984 welcomed their daughter, Alyce, whom she often called her greatest gift. As a new mother, Naomi returned to school and earned a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering. For over twenty years she worked as one of the few female electrical engineers in Louisiana and later Arkansas. It was Entergy that brought The Zottolis to Little Rock in 1995. After retirement, she enjoyed spending her time gardening, reading, and doting on her daughter.
Naomi was a member of the congregation at Temple B'nai Israel; later serving as a member of the Temple Board and President of the Temple Sisterhood. She was a dedicated student of the Torah and devoted her later years to the study of Judaism.
She was an advocate for many causes but was most passionate about time spent with her family. Naomi will be remembered for her bright smile, welcoming hugs, and her contagious laughter. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Following a private interment for the family, a memorial service will be held at Temple B'nai Israel on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. followed by a reception, graciously provided by her Temple family.
Donations in Naomi's memory may be made to the Little Rock Animal Village. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home, you may sign an online guestbook at www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.
